TopShop Lipstick

Lipstick...it's just so fun. I have really been loving reds this season, and in turn the more pink-sh shades somewhat dissolved into the background.

Since I recently made a purchase from TopShop, I bought myself a new pink in the shade Petal Pink.

I first went to TopShop because I wanted to check the store out, and was drawn to the makeup, more specifically the lipstick, though I bought some cream blushers as well.

I heard the quality was comparable to Mac's, and that is just what I need right now. I am finished purchasing from Mac because they are no longer cruelty free. Still, they were my favorite, and only, lipstick brand.

I will gladly say that TopShop's quality is categorized with Mac. I don't know about the longevity, though, since I haven't worn this a whole day yet.

I am so happy to have this lovely addition to my lipstick bin. It stands out against all that black casing. Designing containers based off TopShop would be wise - they are adorable!

TopShop Cream Blush

It's all very exciting - my first TopShop order that is. I never really gave the store a good look even after I heard many mentions. But I finally did, and instead of looking at their clothing department (more like buying from. I did take a nosey around).

I am not a HUGE eye makeup person, but love lips. I did wander to find the face applicant section, and lingered on the cream blushes. I never tried them and used my nice powdered blush from Stila (or not so nice). It wasn't my favorite because it took a lot of smoothing in to look anything close to acceptable.

Cream blushers, I have been told, are very natural looking and quite nice. I wanted to try them, but just kept pushing the purchase back on my to-buy list. I finally caved when I read the stellar reviews about these lovely ones.

The first one, called Flush, is very...bright looking. Vivid is the word. I was certainly skeptical, wondering how on earth does THAT look natural. Well, let me say that I, personally, find it very UNNATURAL. I can literally tap my finger in and smooth it on to my cheeks and they are vivid pink.

I bought the second, called Pulse, for safety purposes more than anything. I had my doubts about the previous one (Flush) and wanted to buy something I could fall back on in case Flush turned into a big hot mess. I liked it a lot more, and it's almost a bronzy color. A nice summer glow, if you ask me.

Also, may I say that the packaging is really cute. I love it. It rises above the plain black packaging that I'm used to. Bravo, TopShop.

Mint Gum - EW!

Mint gum is just gross. I cannot stand the taste. I like the smell (it is rather pleasant) and the appearance gets an 'A'. But the taste is just - EW!

Mint chocolate is yummy (in most cases. I have tasted some pretty nasty stuff), and I am beginning to accept actual mints for who they are, but the gum is insufferable.

A hint of mint flavor is fine, and if they made a gum that had a subtle taste of mint throughout the whole chewing experience then I might give it a go. All mint gum that I've tried (not that I've bought any myself, but rather have been given some) has had this piercing flavor. I hate spicy foods, they just seem pointless. This overpowering minty flavor almost tastes spicy, and I don't like it.

I seriously have no understanding for it seemingly being the most common gum flavor. It's always, "Hey, do you want a piece of gum?" "What flavor?" "Mint." "I'll have to pass."

I'll admit that the chilly feeling in your mouth that you get is interesting, and admittedly nice. However, that sums up the positives for the flavoring. Instead of a mint choice, I would prefer to opt for something labeled 'ice' if I want my mouth to feel cold.

Mac lipstick: Chili

This Christmas I received a new Mac lipstick (yay!!!) and it was in the color Chili. I had actually chosen the color from online browsing on the website and instantly loved it. I had an appointment  to get my makeup done at the Mac counter and asked them to use Chili when applying lipstick.

To be honest, I was a tad disappointed with the color since it wasn't the color I expected. I still love it and have grown to like it more each day. However, I expected something more red-ish, but this color was a rusty orange color.

I bought a different color instead and left Chili behind, but it found its way back to me this Christmas. Anyway, I wore it a few times already, and now I am very grateful I have an orange-y color in my collection now. I always shied away from orange colored lip tones, but they are undeniably becoming more common. So now I have one, and I really love it.
